Posted on October 20, 2016

Tierra Cooper, Senior at Laurel High School, was selected as a South Central Sports Medicine Scholar Athlete. Tierra plays Varsity Soccer and is a Cheerleader for the Laurel Tornadoes. After graduation, Tierra aims to play soccer in college. She would like to attend the University of Southern Mississippi or University of Mississippi to major in Political Science.

Tierra was asked what motivates her desire to excel in athletics. She responded with, “My coach, my parents and my best friend/soccer mate all motivate me and push me to play to the best of my ability on and off the field.”

For the upcoming season, Tierra would like her team to come together as a family, win district and score a goal. She encourages her team to never give up, even when they are tired. “I want to remind the team to keeping pushing and stay focused. Keeping God first in the sport will help us stay dedicated,” says Tierra.

South Central Sports Medicine presents the 2016-2017 Class of Scholar Athletes. Senior Athletes were selected by Athletic Directors of their respective schools. Athletes were selected based on their leadership on and off the playing field, their attitude of sportsmanship and grade point average. South Central Sports Medicine congratulates each athlete for their dedication to their sport and their school.
