On Monday, June 6th, coaches and local athletes gathered for the third annual South Central Sports Medicine Coaches Seminar. The event was held to update coaches on new laws and regulations for concussions, injury prevention tips and ways to be a role model for their student athletes. Mitch Williams, FCA Director, was the keynote speaker.
Along with updates in the field of sports medicine, South Central Sports Medicine honored local athletes for the Scholar Athlete Program.
“This is a way that South Central Sports Medicine gives back to our community,” states Dr. Burgess. “To show our appreciation for allowing the schools to be part of the lives of their athletes, we introduced the inaugural class of Scholar Athletes.”
