On Tuesday, June 20th, area coaches and local athletes gathered for the fourth annual South Central Sports Medicine Coaches Seminar. The event was held to update coaches on current trends in proper hydration prior-to and following athletics. Beau Lower, Director of Rehabilitation for the New Orleans Saints, was the keynote speaker.
Along with updates in the field of sports medicine, South Central Sports Medicine honored local athletes for the 17-18 Scholar Athlete Program.
“This is a way that South Central Sports Medicine gives back to our community,” states Dr. Burgess. “To show our appreciation for allowing the schools to be part of the lives of their athletes, we introduced the inaugural class of Scholar Athletes.”
